Techirghiol Lake
This lake is well known for its miraculous, healing qualities of the sapropel mud and the salty water.
The lake is former sea golf with sand bar, preventing water to enter, and because of the evaporation over the centuries, the water there is 8 times saltier than sea water.
It is at the bottom of the lake where the famous mud forms, which is used in the clinics not only on this Coast, in Rheumatology and anti Rheumatic Care.

Eforie Sud, spa & seaside resort, between the Black Sea and Lake Techirghiol
The Romanian coast offers by its twelve resorts, more than 127,000 seats in hotels and villas, the opportunity to spend a pleasant holiday and also to benefit from spa & geriatric treatments.
General Information on Climate:
The temperature ranges from temperate to moderate continental, with Pontic influences. The average annual temperature is 11.3 °C (0 °C in January and 22 °C in July). The orientation of the beaches along its entire length of the coastline towards East ensures maximum exposure to ultraviolet rays, also thanks to the sunshine 12 hours a day, in the summer. The air is highly ionized, rich in marine aerosols, through the waves and the breeze.
Climate Characteristics Specific to the Area of Eforie:
Winter Temperatures: from 4°C to 8°C, the lowest registered temperature;
Summer Temperatures: from 25°C to 35°C;
It should be noted that Eforie is slightly away from Constanţa and it is composed by Eforie Nord and Eforie Sud, these two being separated by 5 km.
The climatic conditions are more favorable to Eforie Sud than to Eforie Nord, because Eforie Sud benefits from a Mediterranean microclimate, which brings a difference of + 4 °C in comparison to Eforie Nord.
Moreover, Eforie Nord has more gloomy conditions, for instance, in winter, when Eforie Sud has a blue, clear sky and is sunny, at Eforie Nord may even rain , and/or with fog, and/ or sky sailing.
This is due to a land tongue exposed to a climatic stress that juxtaposes the lake and the sea, between the two geographical zones; this land tongue favorites Eforie Sud, in detriment of Eforie Nord.
Coastal Features: The Sea has salinity at great convenience for the human body (16 g/l), which does not irritate the eyes. Average temperature of the sea water in season: from 21 °C to 23 °C.
